Winter Salad Garden
Grow a Superfood Winter Salad Garden
Winter might not be everyone’s favorite season. If you’re looking to
transform your space into edible gardens, I can help!
As a gardener, I go a little stir crazy, so I have an indoor garden. I
like a superfood salad garden. I set up an indoor greenhouse on my enclosed
porch, it is not heated so I added grow lights and a small heater.
Ready to try? Here are some of my favorites:
* Arugula is easy to grow and hardy to 28 degrees. It is a nutritious
leafy vegetable known for its aromatic flavor and taste.
* Spinach can tolerate temperatures to 20 degrees and in some climates,
can be grown year-round. It is packed with vitamins and other nutrients.
* Kale is hardy and will survive even when temperatures fall below zero!
It is pungent, pepper in flavor and high in fiber.
* Microgreens and Mixed Salad Greens Although they prefer warmer weather
they grow quickly indoors. They add rich, complex flavor and nutrition to
almost everything.
