Tea Gardens
Yes it’s true there are plenty of herbal teas available on the market. How wonderful would it be to brew up a mug of tea you blended yourself from your perennial tea garden? Dry and use the leaves and flower heads for tea. Here’s a few of my favorites:
Mint is a staple in any tea garden. Peppermint, Lemon Balm and Bergamot are terrific too, there are so many different varieties of mint.
Lavender has a sweet flavor taste and Chamomile is one of the easiest herbs to grow.
Roses are a perfect addition, they’re beautiful when in bloom and smell wonderful.
Basil and thyme are incredibly fragrant and makes a
wonderfully soothing cup of tea. It’s especially good served with a little
lemon balm or mixed with an herbal tea.
Nasturtium tea is slightly peppery and an edible flower.
Red clover is a sweet tea, if you’re lucky you may have red clover growing wild on your property.
Marigold tea has a lovely golden color and a chrysanthemum-like fragrance. It is a mild and slightly bitter so you may add honey or sugar or blend it with other herbs like chamomile or mint for a richer taste.
