Yesss! It's Porch Season

Yesss, it’s porch season. Create a sentimental social place to relax with old charming vibes. Give your porch new life this season with these creative decor ideas.

Create Statement Seating:
I use mismatched mix matched chairs. Place them around a low table. Wooden milk crates add an old soul charm.  Throw in a mix of wood and rattan chairs. If you have the room, add a porch swing. It has a quiet charm. It invites stillness, slow conversations, and time that forgets itself.

Complement with Textures:
Toss a vintage quilt over your porch swing or chairs. Use jute or patterned outdoor toss rugs. Accessorize your chairs with soft cotton or linen cushions and pillows. 

Layer In Ambient Lighting:
There is something soothing about mason jars with lights, solar power would be a bonus.  You can use them on the floor and table.  Use string lighting for your ceilings or rails.  I prefer soft white bulbs, others like twinkling lights. Another great look is lanterns with LED candles or votive candles.

Enhance with Plants:
Hanging baskets with colorful sweet-smelling flowers will attract beautiful butterflies and maybe hummingbirds. Include butterfly plants and hummingbird feeders.   Herbs also add a great fragrance.  You can use little latter shelves, small terracotta pots or a small vertical garden on one side.

Cozy Personal Vibes:
Create inspiration with a stack of old books or magazines.  A chalkboard for inspirational or daily quotes.  Include your favorite music, maybe a music box or radio. Wind chimes add quiet poetry. There’s no rhythm, no pattern, just chance and air, making their sound feel almost like a whisper from the weather.

Make your porch your sanctuary, a place that reflects you. It’s time to get creative, mix in what feels good, tells your story, and slows down the days pace.  A place surrounded with good vibes. A place you want to come home to every day to relax, appreciate and enjoy.
